The vast territory of the Tuscan Maremma and the wide variety of its natural elements allow you to practice land and sea sports throughout the year, and numerous free time activities.

Maremma is a vast Tuscan territory that overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea, enjoys a particular mild climate and a wide variety of natural elements that allow land and sea sports enthusiasts the opportunity to practice their discipline at any time of the year or to try their hand at the numerous activities offered in free time. Among the sports most practiced and loved by the Maremma people and tourists: sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, water skiing, sport fishing, diving (scuba diving) along the Maremma coast or in the splendid islands of Tuscan Archipelago National Park, hiking (also by canoe, in the Ombrone river), horse riding courses, trekking and horseback riding, bouldering and free climbing (sport climbing), golf, Cycle Tourism, with numerous itineraries also for mountain bike, ski, snowboard and bobsleigh enthusiasts Mount Amiata. In addition to the sport which is enhanced with national and local competitions in the summer, you can take advantage of positive opportunities for visits to various locations by taking advantage of traditional games and historical re-enactments like the Alberese Rose Tournament with the Butteri of the Maremma, The Balestro del Girifalco in Massa Marittima or the Palio Marinaro dell’Argentario in Porto Santo Stefano), or food and wine festivals and patronal celebrations in the numerous medieval villages of the Maremma.

The crystalline sea (European Blue Flag for several consecutive years Castiglioncello, Vada, Marina di Bibbona, Castagneto Carducci, Marina di Cecina, Gorette, Sterpaia Natural Park, San Vincenzo, Follonica, Castiglione della Pescaia, Marina di Grosseto, Principina a Mare e Monte Argentario), the sulphurous waters of Saturnia spa, those of the Sun of Venturina, the rocky mountains and the hilly hinterland, make the Maremma Livornese and Grossetana an irresistible half for those who want to combine relaxation and well-being, in close contact with nature. The numerous farmhouses, hotels, residences, relais and SPA Resorts in the Tuscan Maremma are very well equipped and many offer sports facilities to satisfy almost all disciplines: fitness, gym, swimming, five-a-side football, tennis, shooting archery, volleyball and basketball.
